Waste

Waste and recycling sites carry serious risk, and we get in amongst the operation to understand it, comment honestly on what we find, and help you make practical changes.
Where we work

Our experience

We have certainly seen lots of dust, hardcore, mattresses, metal, wood and plastic being sorted and moved around! We know the dangers around moving plant, skips, RORO’s, trommels, grading plant, sorters and shakers, loading shovels, excavators, conveyors, bailers and hoppers and we enjoy getting in amongst things (as long as guarded, of course) to work with the people using, operating and managing these hazards and processes.

Our experience unfortunately includes seeing things go wrong and dealing with the aftermath of major accidents. We know how accidents can happen, how enforcement works and how civil claims can come about.

Although paperwork is important it’s not as important as how things are actually done, and our inspections involve observing and challenging normal operations. Our aim is simple: to stop people getting hurt and suffering from ill health in the waste and recycling industry.

We will comment both positively and critically your site with confidence and evidence, but we will quickly move to help and make changes that are resilient and practical.

We can help with risk assessments, safe working procedures, training, traffic and pedestrian management, guarding assessments, policies, fire risk assessments and inspections.
