Our experience
We have certainly seen lots of dust, hardcore, mattresses, metal, wood and plastic being sorted and moved around!
We know the dangers around moving plant, skips, RORO’s, trommels, grading plant, sorters and shakers, loading shovels, excavators, conveyors, bailers and hoppers and we enjoy getting in amongst things (as long as guarded, of course) to work with the people using, operating and managing these hazards and processes.
Our experience unfortunately includes seeing things go wrong and dealing with the aftermath of major accidents. We know how accidents can happen, how enforcement works and how civil claims can come about.
Although paperwork is important its not as important as how things are actually done, and our inspections involve observing and challenging normal operations. Our aim is simple: to stop people getting hurt and suffering from ill health in the waste and recycling industry.
We will comment both positively and critically your site with confidence and evidence, but we will quickly move to help and make changes that are resilient and practical.
