We can provide individual health & safety products and also combine these into bespoke packages.

Our most popular service is provided to companies who require the “competent person” or “competent source of advice” service.

This is so organisations have a resource for advice, guidance and support in all things Health, Safety and Fire, without the substantial cost of in house Health and Safety Advisors. However, we also have many clients who do have their own internal resource where additional support is needed from a monitoring and auditing prospective as well as training.

In current times not everyone wants to commit to a long term package with tricky and expensive exit clauses. This is why we are so flexible in terms of how we can engage with you for your Health and Safety support.

If you don’t know exactly what you need or how far you have to go please call to discuss so we can explain what is essential, how to apply requirements in a sensible and proportionate way and to keep compliant. This call costs nothing and it gives us both a chance to ask questions of each other in terms of due diligence and a brief assessment of where you are currently.

Some examples include for small business:

A painting and decorating contractor wanting access to a Health and Safety professional for competent source of advice to support CHAS/Safecontractor accreditation but needs nothing else at the moment as they manage training and risk assessments already in house. 

Complisafe supplied a certificate confirming the appointment as well as access to the online portal for documents and monthly insights and news for regular updates. The contractor is able to call and email Complisafe for any advice or support needed as many times as needed* over a twelve month period. This costs less than example option 1 below.

A PR agency in Farringdon has a small 30 person office and needs a competent person to produce a company Health and Safety Policy and carry out an annual visit to complete fire and workplace risk assessments. 

Once completed the Agency requests further ongoing support and access to the on line training portal for basic awareness training, buying 50 units at a time for DSE training and assessment as well as GDPR training. This costs less than option 2 below as they did not want the competent source of advice support even though they were advised of this requirement, the choice was made by the company.

We have found over the years that many organisations offer the advice line and a form of insurance. This insurance is usually nothing more than you already hold or could hold through your insurance broker and offers little value when it comes to claims or prosecutions.  Claims are already covered and prosecution fines cannot be insured. You will find your Directors and Officers, Legal Expenses, Public and Employee Liability insurance to be ample as well as the Professional Indemnity Insurance all good consultant hold.

Advice lines often go through to call handlers who do not know your business and cannot apply the regulations properly to the situation due to not knowing your business, not being qualified, competent or experienced. Most importantly we do not ask trainees, part qualified or inexperienced staff who have only been in the industry a couple of years to act as consultants.
